Club Grounds Coordinator

Queensland Cricket is the governing body for cricket in our state, and is responsible for the game's promotion, development and administration. Our elite teams compete at the highest level in Australia's domestic competitions, while we are committed to supporting all junior, grassroots and club initiatives, ensuring cricket remains Australia's favourite sport.

This new role will be pivotal within the Grounds Department and is aimed at improving the quality of the turf facilities at associated clubs throughout Brisbane. The successful applicant must be a qualified greenkeeper (Horticulture, Turf) with experience in the preparation of quality turf cricket wickets and sports field maintenanc

Some of the responsibilities associated with this position are:

- Improve the standard of facilities at associated clubs through preparation of turf wickets to a first-grade standard
- Maintenance of turf wicket facilities at associated clubs Chemical usage at associated clubs
- Maintenance of all Queensland Cricket machinery
- Supervise and train subordinate staff Assist the Grounds Manager in maintaining the grounds at the Allan Border Field Precinct

The successful applicant will have:

- Practical experience in turf management, with focus on turf cricket wickets
- Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or Horticulture (Turf)
- Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control (ACDC) Commercial operators license
- A high level of horticultural knowledge
- An open, manual C Class drivers license
- A high level of written and oral communication skills
- Basic numeracy skills
- A blue card for working with children (or be eligible to obtain one)

Apprentice Greenkeeper

A rare opportunity exists for a first year apprentice (Cert III Sports Turf Management) to work with the Grounds Department at the Allan Border Field. You will be trained in the preparation and maintenance of turf cricket wickets and sports field management.

Some of the responsibilities associated with this position are:

- Preparation of turf wicket facilities at the Allan Border Field and associated club grounds.
- Maintenance of turf and synthetic wicket facilities at the Allan Border Field and associated club grounds.
- Usage of fertilisers and pesticides under supervision
- Machinery maintenance and log book recording
- Field Maintenance using commercial-grade equipment
- Irrigation of fields and gardens
- General garden maintenance including hedging and brush cutting
- Attend training to complete your Certificate III Sports Turf Management trade qualification

The successful applicant will have:

- A willingness to learn and apply gained knowledge
- Completed year 12 Manual C Class drivers license or ability to obtain one
- Sound written and oral communication skills
- Basic numeracy skills
- A blue card for working with children (or be eligible to obtain one) if over 18
