Big Three Back For Bulls
The my FootDr Queensland Bulls have recalled record-breaking wicket-keeper Chris Hartley and named batsman Chris Lynn for his first Sheffield Shield game of the season as they gear up for a must-win tilt against Victoria at Allan Border Field this week.
Pace bowler Michael Neser has also been recalled after recovering from an ankle injury while Lynn comes into the side off the back of a match-turning century for the Queensland Academy of Sport in their win over the ACT last week.
It will almost 12 months to the day since the Brisbane Heat T20 star last played a first class game for Queensland.
Jimmy Peirson, who substituted with the gloves in place of Hartley for the past two Shield games while he was sidelined with a broken finger, has been retained in the squad after scores of 71, 50 and 42.
The three players omitted from the side that defeated Tasmania in three days last week were Peter Forrest, Sam Truloff and Ben Cutting.
To make the Final, the Bulls must defeat Victoria and then hope NSW and South Australia do not win. If NSW fail to win but South Australia do win, Queensland need to secure no more than 0.45 less bonus points than the Redbacks.
The Bushrangers have already booked their spot in the Final which will be held in Alice Springs at Traeger Park.
NSW, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia are separated by just 6.35 points on the Shield table.
The Shield match starts on Thursday at Allan Border Field with free admission.
