Queensland’s School Sport Australia 15 & Under Boys National Championship campaign hangs in the balance, after a tight loss to Victoria Metro in Brisbane on Day 2.

After opening their campaign with victory against Western Australia, Queensland went down in a high-scoring thriller against Victoria Metro with just eight runs the difference.

Half-centuries to Max Stevenson (56) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (51) saw Victoria Metro post a total of 8/222, with Queensland finishing at 9-214 in reply.

Max Carlyon top-scored with 46, while Henry Brown picked up three important wickets.

Only two teams remain unbeaten after Round 2 at the School Sport Australia 15 & Under Boys National Championship in Brisbane.

South Australia and NSW Magenta have gone two-from-two, to go atop Pool A and Pool B respectively.

The final will be live-streamed on www.nationalchamps.com.au, with the winner of the tournament taking home the Ricky Ponting Cup.

An Australia under-16s squad will be named at the end of the tournament.
