Kendel Fleming made his maiden First Grade ton with a magnificent 140 against Valleys on the weekend. Nathan Freebody 93 and Sam Hele 56 ( previous highest score 2) put on a wonderful 130 for the last wicket to almost take Fourths Grade to a great win.
There are rumours the famous Kenyan all-rounder from Dalby will make his return this weekend in Fifth Grade. Watch out Wests.
November 4 2013.
Harry Bongers played a wonderful hand against a mature and disciplined Valleys 3rd Grade side with a fine 130. James Penrose (right-arm Vettori) returned to the fold with scoring 58 in 6th Grade. Penny has just returned from a stint in the Queensland High Court Justice Office. Lord Tav's declared at 9/270 after being 5/19 at the first drinks. The Terrace connection of Will Thompson and Harry Wilson played beautifully for 75 and 60 respectively. Harry, brother of Sam, launched some powerful drives in his innings and Will held the side together in a "Steve Waugh" like manner. All he needed was a red rag in his pocket. Well done boys.

Tim Gregory scored a wonderful 112 on the weekend to lead Third Grade to a very comprehensive victory. Well done to Fours and Fives for their victories on a sad weekend for the Norths and University clubs with the news of the passing of John Harris, brother of the late WEP Harris and Norths icon Roger Harris.
Selection for all grades will be posted early this week for the clash against Valleys.

A fine partnership between Andy Ingram (139) and Nathan McSweeney (75*) saw the NSDCC ;Lord Taverners side reach 4 (dec) for 254 against the University of Queensland side yesterday. The partnership of 223 was an outstanding achievement and sent people scurrying for the record books to see if this was the highest partnership in the grade. The scurrying conitnues this morning. Andy is the great grandson of former NSDCC great from the 1950's, Don McClellan, and the younger brother of talented former player Matt Ingram.
Ben Donnelly also assisted the 5th Grade First Innings win on Saturday with a great 6/32.
October 16 2013
Barry Bester, Sam Wilson and Pasindu Udukala have been selected in the 2013 Open Queensland Schoolboys team. Well done boys. You continuee the fine club tradition of players going on to represent their state and country at all levels.
October 15 2013.
Well done to "Siddy" Singh in 5's for his 111 and Jordan Buckley for his 5 fa in 2nd Grade. Jordan's 5 included a Hat-trick. Jordan can still swing that red rag and contiues to rocket up the all -time wicket takers chart in 2nd Grade.
Selections will be posted shortly for this weekend's fixtures against the foe from University.
October 8 2013
Brendan Nash has returned from the UK and takes up coaching this Wednesday evening with the Senior Squad.
Well done to Christian Berndt (6/42) in 5th Grade annd Harvey Aspin 141 in Third Grade for their stellar efforts on the weekend.

It is with great saddness that the club was told of the death of Duncan Betts' father late on Friday. David Betts was a strong supporter of the sport of cricket in Queensland, working and coaching for many years Ipswich Grammar School and the Brisbane Grammar School. His son Duncan was one of Norths finest ever local juniors and went onto to making his debut at Norths in First Grade at the age of 18. He went to University Cricket Club to become a player of significant stature in the history of that wonderful club. Duncan is also responsible for the designs for the pavilion on this website. Our thoughts and wishes are with Narelle, Duncan and his entire family.

NSDCC were told the Western Suburbs legend and former Norths Old-Boy , Aaron Nye, had announced to Wests that he would no longer be playing Grade cricket. He is a wonderful batsman and person to boot. He was able to bowl with guile and skll also. This skill was especially effective when he wore a long sleeve shirt. Aaron was well regarded at Norths and the club was deeply saddened by his departure in the early 2000's. He has been a Peter Burge Medal Winner at Wests and ranks as one that club's all time greats. Aaron was a prolific young bat at Norths winning many premierships in the lower grades and owning a century in each grade of the club. Aaron debuted for Norths in First Grade at 16 years of age. He was part of a group of decorated young cricketers who went onto play for their State and Country. Aaron's brother, Dean, was a First Grade Vice-Captain, Second Grade Captain and player of significant ability with the bat. Dean didn't need the long sleeve shirt. Norths would like to wish Aaron all the best for the future.
