April 2013 - James Hopes Queensland Bulls Shield Player of the Year Award
The indefatigable Hopes edged out a number of contenders including Hartley for the Shield Player of the Year Award following a big finish to the season.
Hopes finished as the XXXX GOLD Bulls' leading wicket-taker for the season with 32 at 22.75 to go alongside 473 runs and in the process joined an elite group of Queenslanders to take 200 career first class wickets.

VALE ERN TOOVEY MBE OAM18/7 Club Patron Ern Toovey MBE OAM passed away peacefully at 5.30am this morning. Tremendous servant to family, working career at Queensland Newspapers, Norths, Queensland Cricket, RSL and the Australian Prisoners of War Association. Father to Robyn, Robert and Jenny, grandfather and great grandfather. Ern was a dashing left handed bat who represented Norths and Queensland with distinction. Well remembered for battling 16 hours in the water in 1942 when HMAS Perth sunk during World War 2.
