ABOUT US
The Cairns Rovers Cricket Club Inc. is one of the oldest continuing cricket clubs in Queensland, having been established in Cairns in 1895. It was formed in Cairns within a few years of Cairns itself being established.
We train at our own nets at Watson's Oval, corner of McNamara St and Behan St, Manunda.
Our colours are green and white, and we have our own "baggy green".
We are a medium sized club and currently field 1 team in each of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th divisions of the Cricket Far North Competition. We also have a juniors development program which caters for Under 11s, 13s and 15s.
Rovers is a member of the Cairns Cricket Association, who are affiliated with the Cricket Far North Zone, and we have players who regularly represent the Far North at zone level.
We exist to provide to cricket lovers in Cairns a club with which to play cricket at a local level, for all ages and ability. We strive to be competitive and team oriented, and to improve and promote the fitness of our members, but also to have fun and enjoy the game.
