VICS WARY OF BULLS

Thursday 11 March 2010

Victoria might be in the box seat, but the Bushrangers still aren’t taking hosting the Weet-Bix Sheffield Shield final for granted.

The Bushrangers were 0-4 in pursuit of Tasmania’s 222 after a rain-affected day at the MCG, while the XXXX GOLD Bulls have their backs to the wall yet again at 5-62 chasing WA’s 286 at the Gabba.

Victoria still have nightmares about Queensland’s fightback against them last week and won’t believe they have the final in their backyard until stumps are drawn on both games.

Evergreen Victorian paceman Damien Wright, who took five wickets against the Tigers yesterday, wasn’t placing two much emphasis on the respective situation after Day 1.

''That's good news for us but Queensland in the past have been behind in a few games but have found a way to win them, so you can never write them off,'' Wright told The Age.

''But we're in a comfortable position and we're happy about that. We're going to have to bat well tomorrow, because there's certainly a bit in the pitch with the new ball.''
