David Oldham loves his cricket club so much that he makes a 100km return trip, often through heavy city traffic, to administer, train and play.

David’s devotion to his club and game means that he could be making a 2000km round trip next year to XXXX GOLD Island.

He has won the November nomination for the XXXX GOLD Players’ Player Award, where members of the cricket fraternity put forward people they think go above and beyond the call of duty.

David is vice-president of the Toombul District Cricket Club in Brisbane’s northern suburbs, but lives in the western extremities at Ipswich.

He makes the long trip at least four times a week.

He runs the bar at Toombul, meaning he never gets to have a drink, so the XXXX Island prize would be a fitting reward for him.

David was the toast of the club earlier in the season, when the team he was captaining made a miraculous recovery to win.

David went to the wicket at 3-30 in reply to 346, but made a big century as his team went on to register 357.

He now has a one in five chance of being the lucky recipient of the trip to XXXX Island.

Don’t forget to nominate someone you think worthy before 31 December for the next monthly award.

Nominations are easy to complete through the link on the advertisement on our website homepage or by clicking here.
