FIRE MUST BE ROAD WARRIORS |

The Konica Minolta Queensland Fire have a huge week ahead of them, with a road trip to Tasmania followed by the WNCL one-day finals series in Sydney. The Fire must beat the winless Tasmanian Roar at Blundstone Arena, Bellerive on Saturday to guarantee the double-chance in the finals. They currently sit three points clear of Victoria, who face unbeaten NSW, and WA, who have a tricky task against the ACT Meteors. Irrespective of the results, the Fire cannot drop out of the semi-finals. Complicating the Fire preparation for Sydney on Friday week is the fact they spend an extra day in Tasmania to play as a curtain-raiser to the Hobart Hurricanes on Monday. The Fire are out of T20 contention, their 4-6 record not good enough for a top two berth. The Roar has been far more competitive in this form of the game, boasting a 3-7 record and upset win over the reigning champion Victorians last series. |
