The top four in the XXXX GOLD Premier Grade competition looks set with two rounds remaining, but that won't stop the Gold Coast from trying to achieve the unlikely. The fifth-placed Dolphins trail University of Queensland by more than 20 points, but will try to bridge the gap by beating third-placed Northern Suburbs, who they trail by 28.07 points, at Ian Healy Oval tomorrow. With most State players available for the first day of play tomorrow, Norths have named James Hopes, Joe Burns and Nathan Hauritz but the Dolphins will be without ace runscorer Greg Moller. University of Queensland should have few problems with Ipswich-Logan, who have struggled with their batting all season, at WEP Harris Oval. The Blues have their big-gun Bulls players available for tomorrow as well. Top side Toombul host Valley, who have been disappointing in the longer form of the game this summer, and second-placed Sandgate-Redcliffe host ninth side Redlands at Trevor Hohns Field. Sunshine Coast and Wynnum-Manly are playing for pride at John Blanck Oval and South Brisbane will try to dispose of Western Suburbs to keep their very faint top four hopes alive.
