XXXX GOLD Queensland Bulls bowlers Alister McDermott and Cameron Boyce have laid down their claims for starting spots in the Bulls’ Ryobi Cup Final line-up on Wednesday with match-winning efforts today for Australia ’A’. Australia continued to inflict misery on the touring England Lions side, keeping them winless with an emphatic win in Hobart. The two teams meet again in Sydney on Monday before the Bulls and Victorian players are released to play in Wednesday’s Ryobi Cup decider at the MCG. McDermott, called in as a replacement bowler during the series, snapped up 3-32 from seven overs while Boyce helped his Queensland teammate clean up the middle and lower order with 2-27 from seven overs. While Bulls batsman Joe Burns (9) was unable to repeat his stylish century from the previous match, and Ben Cutting was rested, McDermott and Boyce produced eye-catching efforts. England was dismissed for 143, 114 runs shy of Australia’s total of 6-256. |
