Chasing 280 in hot conditions, the Bulls batsmen shared the runs evenly between them, with Matthew Renshaw (67), Joe Burns (49), Marnus Labushagne (61) and Ben Cutting (39*) all making solid contributions.
The hosts found themselves in a tight contest in the chase, with Queensland squad member Mark Steketee the pick of the CA XI bowlers with three wickets. Steketee removed Burns and Jimmy Peirson with short deliveries, while Jack Wildermuth mistimed a full ball that came off his back and front legs before clipping the stumps.
In the end some lusty Cutting hitting saw the Bulls home with 9 balls left.
Earlier in the day, CA XI batsman Max Bryant took the attack to the Bulls, carving out a quick-fire 60 from 48 balls, while Ben Pengelley smashed 53 not out from 36 balls late in the innings to get the visitors to a dependable total.
Cameron Gannon responded to the early onslaught from Bryant to take 2-54 from 9 overs, with Michael Neser (2-58), Mitchell Swepson (1-31) and Jason Floros (1-33) the other wicket takers.
The Bulls next meet South Australia at Allan Border Field on Sunday where the Redbacks will be desperate to atone for their upset loss to the CA XI on Wednesday.
