A lack of runs was once again the catalyst for the Fire's defeat having gone down to New South Wales in their WNCL opener on Friday.
Set 286 to win, Queensland's chase struggled to get going after star batter Beth Mooney fell in the second over.
Some quality hitting from Delissa Kimmince (61 from 63) in the middle order gave the Fire some hope, but wickets continued to fall in the pursuit of quick runs.
Earlier in the day ACT opener Katie Mack hit a fine century for the hosts as they built a formidable total.
The loss sees the Fire begin their WNCL campaign with consecutive losses. They will have to wait some time to make amends with their next match not until November 25th as the competition takes a break during the Women's Ashes.
