New South Wales were led to victory by Australian batter Rachael Haynes who blasted an unbeaten 103 as her side chased down the Fire's total of 225 in 38.1 overs.

The day started brightly for Queensland after openers Beth Mooney and Kirby Short put on a 112-run stand, with the former the chief destroyer scoring 73 runs from 88 balls.

The loss of the pair in quick time however saw the Fire's momentum falter, with Breaker's duo Ellyse Perry and Rene Farrell picking up three and two wickets each.

The early wickets of dangerous pair Alyssa Healy and Alex Blackwell to Courtney Hill and Sammy-Jo Johnson had the Fire on top, however Haynes's powerful batting in the middle overs saw New South Wales in control.

The Fire will look to rebound quickly against the ACT Meteors on Sunday.
