The Queensland Academy of Sport is on track to retain the Syd Gregory Cup in the wake of dominant performance led by Queensland batsman Peter Forrest against NSW  in the Toyota Futures League 2nd XI match at Blacktown in Sydney.

Batting first, the QAS powered to 7-429 dec, with Forrest finishing 147 not out, as he and Shield call-up Charlie Hemphrey (98) put on a stand of 196 after a sold effort from debutant opener Alecz Day (86).

NSW were then bundled out for 146, with Bulls squad pace bowler Cameron Gannon taking a five wicket haul.

The QAS batted again and dashed to 2-152 before declaring, setting NSW 437 to win. Opener Bryce Street was 71 not out.

In the final hour of play, NSW were 2-60 in their second innings.
