Heazlett, who made his ODI debut at the start of the year, was named today in the Bulls squad for the JLT Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at Cazalys Stadium in Cairns.
The left-hander injured himself during the JLT One-Day Cup in late October and has missed the first four Shield games for Queensland.
However he made a successful return in Premier Cricket for Redlands and then for the Queensland Academy of Sport team in their tour match against the English Lions at Allan Border Field earlier this week.
Heazlett scored 79 and 48 for the QAS before the third and final day of the match was washed out yesterday.
He replaces Sam Truloff in the side that played a thrilling draw against Western Australia at the WACA at the start of the week.
Pace bowler Mark Steketee comes back into the squad after missing the trip to Perth to bowl against the touring England ‘A’ side while fellow quick Cameron Gannon stays in the twelve.
Spearhead Michael Neser is out with a broken finger suffered during the match in Perth on the weekend.
The Redbacks arrive in Cairns on Friday evening and will train on Saturday morning at Cazalys Stadium. The Bulls arrive on Saturday and will train that afternoon.
Play starts 10am on Sunday with admission free.
It will be the first Shield game played in Cairns, which has previously hosted domestic one-day matches, international tour games and two winter Test matches during the 2000s.
Queensland coach Wade Seccombe and team physiotherapist Martin Love, who scored a Test century at Cazalys, will travel to Cairns tomorrow to be guests at the Cricket Far North dinner at the Hilton Hotel.
