The Queensland Under-17 team have shrugged off two losses to seal a spot in the national championship semi-finals tomorrow.
Queensland, inspired by a century from top order batsman Will Kettleton, drew with Victoria Metro yesterday as wet weather played havoc with the quarter-finals.
Kettleton, from Norths, finished with 108 from just 89 balls as Queensland scored 5-280 from 41 overs. Vic Metro was 0-20 from 3 overs when the rain came, meaning the higher placed home side went through to the semis.
Queensland will meet the impressive Cricket Australia XI, with the team of younger players drawn from the national 15 and under titles earlier in the year, enjoying a fine carnival.
Included in the CA XI are Queenslanders Will Prestwidge, Mitch Pascoe and wicket-keeper Jet Liebke who have all been strong performers to date.
The Final of the titles will be held on Thursday at Allan Border Field.
Tomorrow’s finals are:
Semi Final 1: NSW Metro v South Australia (Marist College, Ashgrove)
Semi Final 2: Cricket Australia XI v Queensland (Anglican Church Grammar School)
