The Summer of Cricket Lunch will preview the forthcoming series opener between Australia and England, alongside the other major events on the 2021-22 cricket calendar including the Women’s Ashes, KFC Big Bash League and Weber Women’s Big Bash League.

A line-up of current and former stars will headline the event featuring Seven Cricket personality Erin Holland as MC, former Australian Men’s Captain Greg Chappell, and current Australian Women’s Team and Brisbane Heat star Jess Jonassen, with more talent to be added soon.

The event will double as a fundraiser for the Queensland Cricket Foundation, with all money raised to assist the Foundation’s purpose of fundraising and investing into initiatives that create positive differences in Queensland communities.

Queensland Cricket will partner with the Queensland Cricketers’ Club to run the event, with Channel Seven Queensland a media partner.

Commenting on the 2021-22 Summer of Cricket Ashes Lunch, Queensland Cricket CEO Terry Svenson said:

“Brisbane will be the centre of the cricketing world when the First Ashes Test commences on Wednesday December 8, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate this massive occasion than with our annual Summer of Cricket Lunch.

“We look forward to previewing what is going to be a great series between two great rivals, while also looking forward to the Women’s Ashes Series and the Brisbane Heat’s performance in the WBBL and upcoming BBL.

“With the Queensland Cricket Foundation having recently re-launched, we know this is a great opportunity to raise some important funds to support our communities across the state,” Svenson said.

The Summer of Cricket Lunch will include a premium four-course meal and six beautiful wines from leading South Australian winery Chateau Tanunda, with tickets available at qldcricket.com.au/lunch
