Leg-spinner Mitch Swepson and the part-time wrist spin of Marnus Labuschagne finished the fine work of paceman Xavier Bartlett and allrounder Jack Wildermuth to sweep to maximum points late on the final day with victory by an innings and 59 runs.

Swepson finished with 4-66 from an accurate 45.2 overs and Labuschagne snapped up 1-9 from eight overs as they secured the final three wickets with less than six overs remaining in the match.

With maroon helmeted fielders surrounding the batsmen, the slow bowlers ground down the dogged Tigers lower order batting after Bartlett had claimed 3-38 from 20 overs and Wildermuth 2-21 from 11 overs to set Queensland on the charge to an opening win.
