Queensland today lost outright to WA in their Marsh Sheffield Shield match, with the visitors finishing at 3-95 after dismissing Queensland for 246 this morning.

The Bulls were unable to hold some eye-catching pace bowling from WA, led by Test aspirant Jhye Richardson, while the WA first innings total of 281 was underpinned by two of Australia's promising players in Josh Phillipe and Cameron Green.

Richardson, the player of the match, finished with eight wickets in the game including an excellent return of 5-23 off 22.2 overs in the second innings.

While Queensland lost Michael Neser to a mild hamstring complaint during the game, fellow quick Mark Steketee got through his return from a bruised heel, taking six wickets for the match.

The Bulls take on the WA, the defending Marsh One Day CUp champions, on Monday from 1.35pm at the Gabba, with free admission. The game will also be broadcast on Foxtel and streamed on Kayo.

Several of Queensland's one-day players spent the week playing in the Toyota 2nd XI match against South Australia in Adelaide, where the final day was washed out with Queensland on track to win outright.
