Get Playing Places and Spaces provides funding for infrastructure development so that more Queenslanders can be involved in sport and active recreation.

Eligible organisations can apply for up to $150,000, with 20 percent of total costs being contributed by the applicant. 

The following cricket clubs were successful in receiving funding.

Burpengary Cricket Club received $118,286 to upgrade their synthetic pitch to a four wicket turf block and extend their existing playing surface. 

Mackay Cricket Association received $150,00 to upgrade and replace practice wickets and nets. 

South Junior Cricket Club received $150,000 to extend existing cricket fields at their Yeronga home ground. 

Surfers Paradise - Benowa CC will utilise $80,795 to upgrade existing lighting at their home ground. 

Noosa - Tewantin CC will install three new practice nets and lighting using $114,903 from the initiative. 

Wolston Park Centenary CC received $85,554 to construct a new toilet facility to support cricket and the community at Wacol.
