Mackay Whitsundays – Mark Kaczmarowski

With great pleasure, Mark Kaczmarowski has been awarded the Mackay Whitsunday’s Volunteer of the Month for December.

Mark was instrumental in reinvigorating cricket in Sarina, a traditional sporting heartland, and in 5 seasons has played a huge part in getting them back to where they are now with two senior sides, three junior sides and a growing member base. He has also been the driving force behind the club’s new training facilities with plans to establish a permanent home for cricket in Sarina.

Thank you for everything you have done Mark, not just in Sarina but in our region over many years, overdue and well deserved!

Darling Downs – Rachael Pascoe

The Darling Downs and South West Queensland Volunteer of the Month for December is Rachael Pascoe from Chinchilla and District Cricket Association. Rachael is currently the Junior Coordinator of the Association, and with the help of her dedicated group of volunteers, saw cricket take off this season.

Rachael manages to balance a very busy work and family life to maintain a constant presence around club. She is the first point of call for all parents, from in2CRICKET through to Juniors. She is more than happy to help where ever is needed. The Chinchilla and District Cricket association would like to thank Rachael for all her time and effort. She was present with a Brisbane Heat signed cap by Regional Cricket officer Anna Paton.

North Queensland – Alex Dickinson

North Queensland's Volunteer of the Month is Alex Dickinson from Townsville Western Suburbs Cricket Club. Alex has been the Junior Vice-President of the club for 5 years. In that time both junior playing numbers and volunteer involvement have grown due to Alex's infectious passion for the game. His tireless efforts and brilliant organization continue to make junior cricket a fantastic experience for all involved.

Alex somehow balances his busy work and family life to be a constant presence around his club, from coaching the U16 side to popping down to chat to parents at In2Cricket. Anyone who talks to Alex comes out of the conversation in a better mood, and he is a pleasure to work with. Alex is invaluable to Western Suburbs and cricket in North Queensland and we thank him for everything he does.

Wide Bay – Rod Venn

The Wide Bay Volunteer of The Month for December is Rod Venn from the Gympie Regional Cricket Association. Rod devotes a significant amount of time to his role as association president, juggling this around his shift work with the police force.

He is actively involved in all areas of cricket in the Gympie region including strategy and operations, and is always ready to assist wherever needed. He was awarded with a signed Brisbane Heat cap.

Well done to Rod on this thoroughly deserved recognition!

Far North Queensland – Rhonda Harwood

The Far North QLD region’s Volunteer of the Month for December is Rhonda Harwood. This is a photo of Rhonda at Cazaly’s stadium where she scored the Sheffield Shield game between QLD and South Australia.

Rhonda is also currently the 1st Grade scorer for Mulgrave and the Cricket Far North open side. Last season, she was also the scorer for the QLD Country Open side, a role that she will look to repeat this season. In addition, she helps other scorers with training on the MyCricket App on top of other volunteer roles with the Mulgrave club. Congratulations Rhonda.

Central QLD – Shaun Gilvear

December's volunteer of the month from Central QLD is Shaun Gilvear from the Capricorn Coast Cricket Club. Whilst handling playing and President commitments with the Capricorn Coast Club, Shaun also dedicated a lot of his time preparing grounds in Yeppoon. Recently the Yeppoon Showground's groundsman took leave and without Shaun preparing the pitches at the ground, games would have struggled to go ahead.
