As reported by the ABC this week, Riley and his dad recently started Operation Straight Drive, a project run out of their Gold Coast home where they collect and refurbish cricket equipment.
The idea for the project started after Riley cleaned up some old gear for a friend, which got him thinking there are more people he could be helping.
Operation Straight Drive has got the attention of local media and the cricket community, with Coomera Hope Island Cricket Club donating a ute full of old gear for Riley to fix up.
Riley was paid a surprise visit this week by Queensland Bulls and Brisbane Heat batsman, and fellow Gold Coast local Max Bryant, with the attacking batsman offering Riley some batting advice and some signed Heat gear.
