The Queensland Academy of Sport has completed an outright win over Tasmania in the Toyota Futures League 2nd XI competition yesterday at Bill Pippen Oval on the Gold Coast.

Bulls squad member Charlie Hemphrey (135no, 3-45) delivered crucial second innings efforts after Tasmania had taken a first innings lead in the four-day match.

Hemphrey and Queensland Under-19 batsman Nathan McSweeney (106) combined for a 238-run stand which helped the QAS to 6-328 declared, before Tasmania was dismissed for 278 in their run chase.

Hemphrey's off-spin and the left-arm spin of Matthew Kuhnemann (3-74) helped bundle out the visitors after a Ben Dunk-inspired Tasmania had reached 0-138 in their pursuit.

Earlier in the game, Bulls seamer Cameron Gannon produced a stand-out effort to claim 5-67 from 36 overs in the first innings as Tasmania scored 367 in response to Queensland's opening effort of 332.
