Mundubbera Cricket Club earned $1,065 through CUA’s Community Champions program – cash which will go towards repairs to the flood-damaged approach to the cricket nets at Archer Park and purchasing a new marquee.

“Our main fundraiser for the year is a Christmas ‘Hot Chips & Dagwood Dogs Night’ – while it is popular with our local community, it doesn’t raise anywhere near as much as we’ve received from CUA. The $1,065 from CUA is more than the combined total of all of our fundraising last year,” Club secretary Julie Pashley says.

CUA Bundaberg branch manager Troy Hammett explains: “Fundraising for a sporting club can be hard work and time consuming, so local cricket clubs have really embraced how easy it is to be involved with CUA Community Champions program.”

CUA Community Champions has already awarded local cricket clubs in Queensland over $7,000 to upgrade their facilities or purchase new equipment. Club supporters and members can earn cash for their club when they take out eligible CUA products.
