Toowoomba's Action Indoor Sports will host the championships over the next two weeks, with Queensland seeking to remain one of country's dominant forces.

Week one will see the Opens Divisions compete for national glory as well as individuals vying for Australian Selection with an Australasian tour planned for later this year.

There are 5 divisions with 27 teams competing from across the country, including an open men’s side from North Queensland. Queensland's open men’s side is led by Australian Indoor Captain Lyle Teske and coached by newly appointed Australian coach Brenton Brien.

The QLD LIGHTNING is coached by newly appointed Australian Coach Wendy Kemp and captained by stalwart Jude Coleman and joined by former Queensland Fire and Brisbane Heat player Kara Sutherland, plus new Fire recruit Meagan Dixon.

Currently Queensland are National Champions in the Open Women and 21 and Under Men’s divisions.

Week two sees a much larger junior tournament with 41 teams across the 3 boys and 2 girls divisions, including 2 boys teams from Singapore.

This year there is also a Junior World Cup being held in Christchurch NZ in September with many Queensland juniors looking to impress national selectors.

Queensland are current national champions in both the 17 and Under Boys and 17 & Under Girls Divisions.
