The young Maroons are determined to bounce back from a disappointing campaign last year, and with a squad featuring three National Under-19 squad members, will look to start well in the Australian championships in Hobart and Launceston in December.

The National titles will be held from 4 December – 15 December.

The Queensland squad announced today features my FootDr Queensland Bulls rookie-contracted players Max Bryant and Xavier Bartlett, with the teenage duo already having played List A matches for the Cricket Australia XI in the domestic one-day cup competitions this year and last year.

The Queensland team will be captained by Norths allrounder Nathan McSweeney who previously led his State to a national title at Under-17 level, and coached by former Queensland and Australian fast bowler Andy Bchel.

Several players in the squad are playing regularly in the top sides for their clubs in the my FootDr Premier cricket competition, including Sunshine Coast opener Angus Lovell, Ipswich/Logan duo Harry Macoun and Harry Wood, Norths spinner Mitch Connolly and Wests quick Blake Edwards.

An Australian Under-19 squad will be chosen later this year for the ICC World Youth Cup that will be staged in New Zealand from 13 January – 3 February, featuring 16 teams across seven venues in four cities – Christchurch, Queenstown, Tauranga and Whangarei.
