The Queensland Bulls will welcome back World Cup hero Marnus Labuschagne for tomorrow’s Marsh Sheffield Shield game against defending champions Western Australia at the Gabba.
Bulls Set For Vital Shield Clash
This will be the Test batsman’s initial first-class game of the season since returning last week from Australia’s triumphant World Cup campaign in India.
It represents a rare opportunity for Labuschagne to play a Shield match for the Bulls ahead of the looming KFC Big Bash League and Test series against Pakistan and the West Indies.
He comes into the squad for batsman Bryce Street.
Queensland has retained left-arm paceman Liam Guthrie following his career best six wicket haul in the second innings against Victoria last week while fellow quicks Mark Steketee and Michael Neser return to the line-up after missing the MCG clash.
The Shield match is the last one before the competition pauses while the BBL is held, with the Brisbane Heat opening the competition next Thursday at the Gabba against the Melbourne Stars.
The game will be streamed live on cricket.com.au and Kayo.
