Australia ‘A’ leg-spinner Grace Parsons has been included in the Queensland Fire squad for their important series of matches against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval this weekend.
Fire Set For Crucial WNCL Games
Parsons has overcome a back complaint that sidelined her for several weeks after the end of the Weber Women’s Big Bash League earlier this season.
She replaces teenage Bundaberg pace bowler Catherine White in the only change to the squad that split its two-game series against Tasmania earlier this month.
Toowoomba Year 12 student Lilli Hamilton retains her spot in the squad after the teenage off-spinner made her WNCL debut earlier this month against Tasmania at Allan Border Field.
The Fire’s win over the defending champions lifted them into top spot on a crowded Women’s National Cricket League ladder to keep them firmly in contention for a spot in the Final.
South Australia sits one point behind Queensland (23pts) in second spot on 22 points but have two games in hand, while NSW is a point behind them on 21 and Victoria is on 20 points.
The matches on Saturday and Monday will be live-streamed on cricket.com.au
