Strategic Plan

Queensland Cricket has launched a strategic plan in 2022. The Strategic Plan has been developed around a new organisational purpose To promote and grow cricket ensuring all Queenslanders can play, participate and enjoy the game. Our vision – To be Queensland’s leading sport – remains the same.

Queensland Cricket launched its Strategic Plan in 2022 and continues to update it. The Strategic Plan has been developed around the organisational purpose: To promote and grow cricket ensuring all Queenslanders can play, participate and enjoy the game. Our vision – To be Queensland’s leading sport. 

The strategic plan aligns with Cricket Australia and is built around five pillars that have been identified as keys to cricket’s growth in Queensland. These pillars are:

  • Grow Participation
  • Better Teams, Players and Coaches
  • Entertainment and Commercial
  • Organisational Capability
  • Infrastructure and Facilities

Queensland Cricket's indigenous artwork was collaboratively designed by former Queensland Fire player and proud Kunja woman Mikayla Hinkley and Brisbane Indigenous artist, Delores McDonald (“Aunty Delly”).

The centre circle represents the Gabba, alongside other water holes which used to be near the ground. 87 black strokes on red earth represent the wickets taken by Aboriginal great, Eddie Gilbert who played 23 games for Queensland.
