As Women and Girls' Week gets underway today, Queensland Cricket is celebrating the achievements of Brisbane umpires Kylie White and Elsie Bradford this week.
Umpire Debut Celebrated

Kylie became the first Queensland umpire to be an on-field appointment in the Women's National Cricket League earlier this month, officiating alongside Rikki Wessels in the WNCL clash between the Queensland Fire and the ACT Meteors at Allan Border Field.
She and Elsie will also make their debuts this week in the T20 Spring Challenge in Sydney.
After a playing career in England that saw her turn out for Hertfordshire Women, Kylie started umpiring in Queensland Premier Cricket in 2022-23 season and was selected to attend the CA U19 Female National Championship in Perth in 2024.
As well as her umpiring career, Kylie has represented the Queensland Women's Veteran team.
Elsie started umpiring in Queensland Premier Cricket in 2023-24 season and was selected to attend the CA U16 Female National Championship in Hobart in 2024, returning to the same tournament in 2025 where she stood in the Final.
Kylie and Elsie are members of the Queensland Emerging Umpire Panel, which has a focus on developing umpires with potential towards the State Panel and potential Cricket Australia opportunities in the future.
As part of Australian Cricket’s 2025 Women and Girls Week, Cricket Australia has launched Her Game Grows which aims to build more inclusive and welcoming environments across all levels of the game.
Through targeted funding to State and Territory Associations, the initiative supports the growth of women’s participation as players, coaches, umpires and volunteers, and enables the delivery of leadership pathways such as Project Inspire.
Her Game Grows is a key part of Australian Cricket’s long-term commitment to gender equity and growing the game for everyone.
The launch comes as Australia’s world-conquering women’s team continues its campaign to defend the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup title in India.
