Extended Indigenous Squad Lists Announced for 2026 National Indigenous Cricket Championships

Queensland Cricket has today announced the extended squad lists for both the Queensland Men’s and Women’s Indigenous teams ahead of the 2026 National Indigenous Cricket Championships (NICC), to be held in Mackay from 14–19 April.

The release of the extended squads follows a historic 2025 campaign, where Queensland delivered its strongest collective performance at any NICC tournament. The Men’s team claimed the national title, while the Women’s team secured a second‑place finish, demonstrating the rising strength and depth of Indigenous cricket across the state. With that momentum behind them, both squads now turn their attention to the year ahead.

Over the coming weeks, players from across Queensland will continue to strive to earn selection in the final travelling squads, to be confirmed by 25 February. The extended lists feature a mix of returning performers and emerging talent, with competition for places expected to be highly competitive.

Queensland Cricket’s Head of Strategic Initiatives – Community Cricket, Katisha Webb, said the announcement reflects the continued growth of Indigenous cricket throughout the state.

“Last year was an outstanding achievement for both squads, and it is exciting to see the calibre of players putting their hands up again in 2026. We have a talented and committed group who are deeply connected to the game, and this next period gives them an important opportunity to showcase their readiness for national competition.”

The 2026 NICC tournament will once again bring together teams from across the country in Mackay, celebrating culture, community, and high‑quality cricket in one of the most exciting events on the national cricket calendar.

Final team announcements for both the Men’s and Women’s squads will be made following the completion of the selection period in late February.

Queensland Cricket congratulates all the below players selected in the extended squads and looks forward to supporting them throughout the lead‑up to the championships.
