JOHAN BOTHA TO LEAVE HEAT | Resigns Position As Head Coach
Queensland Cricket has today accepted the resignation of Brisbane Heat and Queensland Bulls coach Johan Botha.
Botha has held the coaching reins for the past two seasons after taking over from Wade Seccombe.
He informed Queensland Cricket of his decision to resign today after originally being contracted until the end of this season.
Queensland Cricket CEO Terry Svenson thanked Botha for his commitment over the past two seasons.
“While we haven’t achieved all of our on-field goals in that time, Johan has made a strong contribution towards the development of the next generation of Queensland and Brisbane Heat players,’’ he said.
“Despite this decision, Johan’s contributions to our high performance group have been valued.”
“We wish he and his family every success in the future and thank him for his efforts across the Sheffield Shield, One Day Cup and BBL competitions.”
Svenson said Queensland Cricket would now begin an immediate search to secure a new head coach for the coming 2026-27 season.
