Queensland Cricket has secured one of Australian cricket’s most accomplished white-ball performers, with Adam Zampa to join the Bulls for the 2026-27 domestic season.
ZAMPA JOINS QUEENSLAND
Cricket Australia has formally approved Zampa’s shift from NSW to Queensland, which will enable greater training flexibility and proximity for the experienced spinner, who lives in northern NSW.
Zampa has been a key figure in Australia’s limited-overs sides since debuting in 2016, building his reputation on control and variation, qualities that have him currently listed at number 4 in the ICC T20 Bowling Rankings.
Zampa, 34, joins fellow nationally contracted players Marnus Labuschagne, Michael Neser and Xavier Bartlett in the overall Queensland Bulls squad.
New Bulls coach James Hopes commenced duties this week, with several playing opportunities ahead for squad members in a busy pre-season.
Hugh Weibgen, Jack Sinfield and Steven Hogan will travel to India early next month as part of an emerging Australian squad for the MRF Academy Program in Chennai.
The program will feature two multi-day matches, scheduled for 5–6 August and 10–11 August on extremely spin friendly pitches.
Contracted Bulls players will be available to their Premier Clubs across the KFC T20 Max that gets underway from 19 August for the women’s competition and on 21 August for the men.
QC General Manager – High Performance, Bennett King, welcomed Zampa to the Bulls.
“We’re pleased to have Adam join our program and look forward to working together with him,’’ he said.
“He is a world class bowler, and his experience and insights will certainly benefit our group. We look forward to assisting him with his goal of continuing to represent Australia with distinction in the future,’’ King said.
Zampa will link with Queensland once his playing commitments in The Hundred in the UK are completed.
He will again be a leading contender for Australia’s ODI series in Zimbabwe and South Africa in September and October.
