Bulls Reset After Thriller

The Queensland Bulls will have a quick re-set following yesterday's thrilling Sheffield Shield loss against a wounded Western Australia at the WACA.

The home side won outright by two-wickets after trailling on the first innings, with injured batter Sam Fanning (hamstring) at the crease wth captain Aaron Hardie as WA chased down the asking target of 201.

A second innings collapse that saw the Bulls dismissed for 68 dramatically removed any momentum Queensland had built up from Jimmy Peirson's first innings century in his 100th career first class game and a five-wicket haul by Xavier Bartlett.

Instead, Queensland was left to rue its day three batting brainfade as WA closed in on the target despite Bartlett claiming another four wickets to give him nine for the match in an excellent return to the first class arena.

As was the case in the opening two one-day cup losses, Queensland will take plenty of positives despite the result, with a speedy turnaround now to take on WA in the Dean Jones Cup in a day/night clash tomorrow.

Queensland will finalise its squad later today.
