Heart of the Heat | EOFY Fundraiser

Make a tax deductible donation before 30 June by donating as little as $2 to the Queensland Cricket Foundation.

The Queensland Cricket Foundation is teaming up with the Brisbane Heat and Heart180 to install five lifesaving Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) at four Premier Cricket Clubs in South East Queensland.

QCF is aiming to raise $15,000 to ensure cricket clubs remain a safe environment for players, coaches, parents, volunteers, umpires and the wider community.

Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death in Queensland, and access to a nearby AED provides sufferers with a 70% chance of survival if used within the first three minutes of a sudden attack.

There are currently 28 defibrillators installed across all 12 premier cricket clubs in SEQ, however, not all ovals are equipped with an AED close by.

To ensure all ovals have an AED on standby, we’re calling on the wider cricket community to help us raise the funds required to purchase and install five AED devices and provide first-aid training at the following clubs:

  • 1 x AED device

Cheltenham Oval | Gold Coast District Cricket Club

  • 2 x AED Devices

St Lucia Ovals 2 & 9 | University of Queensland Cricket Club

  • 1 x AED device

Mitchelton SHS Oval | Valley District Cricket Club

  • 1 x AED device

Chelmer Sports Ground | Western Suburbs District Cricket Club
