McDermott Shines As Bulls Falter

A career highest score for Ben McDermott was a highlight even as the Queensland Bulls missed a chance to nail a huge chase in their Marsh One Day Cup loss to Tasmania yesterday.

Chasing the Tigers' mighty total of 8-376, McDermott's highest List A score of 143 underpinned the Queensland batting effort.

His 143 from 112 deliveries wasn't enough to get the Bulls home as they were dismissed for 348 with one delivery of their innings remaining.

Queensland returned from Tasmania after also coming off a loss in the Sheffield Shield, where the Tigers completed a record final day chase.

The Bulls will be back in action at the Gabba next week when they host South Australia in a Shield game starting on Monday, the first game of the summer at the venue.

Queensland will resume its one-day campaign in February, with two limited overs games left to complete.
