Play Cricket Week Underway

The Brisbane Heat, Queensland Bulls and Queensland Fire will throw their collective weight behind delivering a bumper Play Cricket Week roll-out throughout the State this week, with the theme of 'Cricket Anywhere' emphasising cricket is a sport for all that can be played at any time, anywhere.

The players will join with Queensland Cricket community staff to make 73 appearances at schools, clubs and regional showcases across Queensland in a seven-day blitz starting from today through until next Sunday.

Rookie Bulls and Heat pace bowler Calluim Vidler joined with Junior Blasters players from the Gold Coast to play cricket with some attentive aquatic hosts at Sea World on the Gold Coast to help launch Play Cricket week (pictured).

Among the activities planned is the StreetSmarts Regional tour, taking in major activations in Townsville, Mackay/Whitsundays, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane.

There will also be events taking place in Cairns, Toowoomba, Gladstone, Biloela, Charters Towers, Clermont, Proserpine, Jimboomba, Innisfail, Tolga, Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton as well as throughout Brisbane, Redlands, Logan, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
