Ponting Backs Foundation

Hard on the heels of a record-breaking Ashes pre-sale this week, the Queensland Cricket Foundation has recruited an Australian great to enhance its 2025-26 plans.

Ponting Wines, co-founded by Ricky Ponting, have been confirmed as the Official Wine Partner of Queensland Cricket and the Brisbane Heat for the 2025-26 season, and the Official Presenting Partner of the Queensland Cricket Foundation Ashes Test Lunch Event at the Rivershed at Howard Smith Wharves.

Test legend Ricky Ponting will be the headline guest at the Queensland Cricket Foundation Ashes Test Lunch ahead of the opening sessions of the Day/Night Gabba Test from 4 December.

Following the record-breaking Ashes pre-sale earlier this week, QC anticipates keen interest from fans in purchasing a ticket to the Test lunch, with limited packages including a ticket to the opening day of the pink ball Test at the Gabba.

All proceeds raised will go to the Queensland Cricket Foundation, which raised more than $280,000 in 2024-25 towards its four key pillars to make cricket more accessible and inclusive in Queensland:

The QCF focuses on fund-raising to support:

  • Indigenous Health and Well-being,
  • All-Inclusive, Female, and Multicultural Programs,
  • Infrastructure and Facilities, and
  • Supporting Experiences for Disadvantaged Youth
