Marnus Into ODIs After More Bulls Success

Queensland captain Marnus Labuschagne's fourth century of the season yesterday has had a triumphant footnote today with his recall to the Australian ODI line-up for the series against India starting in Perth on the weekend.

Labuschagne was announced today as the replacement for Cameron Green who reported mild side soreness after a training session in Perth and was withdrawn for the BKT Tyres ODI series.

The Bulls batter will join the Australian squad once Queensland's current Sheffield Shield match against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval is finished tomorrow.

He will miss Queensland's One Day Cup game against SA at Karen Rolton Oval on Monday.

Labuschagne, fresh off his fourth century of the domestic season for Queensland on day two of their ongoing Shield clash with a fine 159, had originally been omitted from the ODI squad.

However two centuries in his opening three Dean Jones Cup one day games and then two first class centuries mark him as the form batter in the country and his recall will further boost his claims to return to the Australian Test squad for the Ashes series in December.

Queensland's effort to restrict the defending Shield champions to 228 on the opening day, with four wickets apiece to Michael Neser and Mitch Swepson, was enhanced with an oustanding batting display yesterday.

Labuschagne led the charge, with fellow Test batter Usman Khawaja (46) and recalled left-hander Lachlan Hearne (66no) making the most of the excellent batting conditions yesterday.

Hearne today picked up the Labuschagne baton and strode to a super maiden first class century, stroking 106 runs as Queensland finished with 398 earlier today.
